got my augmentation done today and snuck a peek. They look so small to me! I'm 5'9, 130 pounds and had 385cc's placed under the muscle. The goal was a full C. The look like maybe a B! I know it's too early to judge but I expected them to look big at first! Not small! Does this make sense!?
Answer: Why do I look so small? I appreciate your question.Yes it is definitely too early too tell. It will take 3-6 months to see full results of surgery. For swelling to resolve and breasts to settle. For immediate questions/concerns, please contact operating surgeon. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.Best of luck!Dr. Schwartz

Answer: Why do I look so small? Congratulations on your surgery! It is much too early for you to judge the results. It will take time for the muscle to settle down and let the implant rest comfortably in the pocket. You have many changes ahead. I know it is hard to be patient, but more time is needed. Be sure to be open in your communication with your surgeon so you can feel confident in what to expect during recovery.

Answer: Why do I look so small? Hello,Thank you for your question. Right after surgery and for the first week or so, many patients feel this way because the implants are under pressure from tight skin and swollen tissues. The volume is displaced up and outward and not soft, round and fluffed out yet. They can appear smaller and lacking shape. You will need to wait for initial swelling to resolve and then between 2-6 months your breasts will drop and fluff. I recommend that you hold off evaluating size until then. All the best!

Answer: Why do I look so small? Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Although online consultants will not be able to provide you with meaningful reassurance, it may be helpful for you to know that a significant percentage of patients at your stage of recovery will feel that they are too big or (more commonly) too small. I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. From the physiological standpoint, it takes many months ( and even up to one year) to see the final results of surgery. factors such as swelling, tissue contraction, skin redraping, implant shifting etc. come into play. You may be pleasantly surprised wants to be "drop and fluff" phenomenon has occurred. You may also be happier once the swelling AROUND the breast implants dissipates and the implants' shape and projection become more visible. From the psychological standpoint, patients undergo an “adaptation period" during which time they get used to the changes that the surgical procedure has brought about. Severe emotional swings can also occur after any type of surgical procedure. In your case, I would suggest continued patience and continued close follow-up with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

Answer: Too early to tell I am certainly glad that photo was not an immediate post op. I almost had a HA! For patients who have minimal amount of breast tissue and tight skin, you may notice significant amount of flattening of the breast implants. This will improve with time and will take 3-6 months. You may also see changes in the next few days.Best Wishes,Nana Mizuguchi
