Does the SculpSure machine have to be a certain temperature for it to work?

The settings on SculpSure onliy indicate power and not temperature.  Technically, the machine will always reach the temperature that is effective for melting fat. The power setting only help 'get you there' faster or slower.  SO - if you have a lower setting, the machine may ramp up a bit slower, but more comfortably as it maintains you at the necessary temp to melt fat.  At a higher setting, it will do that much faster.  I try to get everyone to as high as possible to give them the best treatment possible, and I've been at it since the beginning being one of the first to have the machine in New Jersey!

While the laser does heat the subcutaneous fat, the device counteracts this by using Contact Cooling technology to prevent damage to the skin and keep you the patient comfortable. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to learn more about the procedure and your candidacy.

There are no specific temperature settings with SculpSure.  The energy delivered by the machine can be adjusted based on on well the patient is tolerating the heat.  Some people are able to tolerate the highest settings and others can only tolerate the lowest.  

The SculpSure laser will always reach the temperature necessary to melt the fat so yes, the treatment will work and you should feel free to schedule the other thigh. Just remember that it may take 8-13 weeks to see your final results so be patient. Hope this helps --

If you were able to complete the full treatment I would not have any concerns. The numbers are used to "get" you to correct temp but as long as you completed the process, even at the lower levels, your treatment should be completed successfully. Best wishes. 

The Sculpsure has a preset range to create effective lipolysis (destruction of fat cells).  Within that range the treatment will be effective.    The amount of heat retained in the treated area varies by body type and amount of fat layer .  The perception of the temperature also varies by the individual patient and also by the body area being treated.  As long as the settings are kept within the therapeutic range, and the patient is feeling  heat in the treated area, the actual temperature is not measured. The inner thighs are a more sensitive treatment area but that means you will see results with a Sculpsure setting in the lower range of the effective range. So proceed with the Sculpsure and you will get good results. 

For the treatment to be effective, it should not go below the minimum setting - it is ok if it's not raised higher than the minimum, but it should not go below that. Often when treating opposite sides of the body, one side is worse than the other so it is possible that your other thigh will be better tolerated, however it is unlikely that your first treatment was effective.

SculpSure works from the lower to higher setting. It can be very hard in some patients to tolerate the upper settings.  The lower settings are within the range of effectiveness.

Thank you for your question and sorry you did not have an experience as expect.  There are no temperature settings on the machine only power settings.  These power setting can be independent adjust based on your feedback.  The feeling experienced for be very warm to hot but not burning.  Just mildly unpleasant but never painful.  Too low a setting and minimal to no results.  Ever once and a while there are some who just do not tolerate the temperature. 

The settings for SculpSure do not reflect the temperature of the machine or the skin.  They are just adjustment parameters for the machine.  For SculpSure to work the skin must feel warm and tingly during the procedure.  Some people can not tolerate the heat, therefore the treatment must be discontinued.  You will not see results if you did not finish the session and I would not retreat the same or opposite thigh.  I would also ask for a refund or a credit.Good Luck!
