I'm almost out of bacitracin ointment and I was wondering if it is ok to apply neosporin to the FUE donor area to accelerate the healing process and reduce the look of scarring and redness?

Answer: FUE donor site scar Every surgeon has his own protocol for donor sites. I have my patients apply Bacitracin three times a day for 5 days, then after that typically nothing is needed. For donor areas of the beard and chest, we have our own healing ointment that accelerates the healing in these areas.

Answer: Neosporin in donor area I do not recommend boutraces or Neosporin post operation. It does not add any safety or growth enhancements to the procedure and it adds only the possibility of an allergic reaction.

Answer: Neosporin After Transplant By now you shouldn't need either- if you feel like the area still needs to heal despite running out of ointment, talk to your doctor about whether you simply need more Bacitracin or if there's an underlying issue that is preventing the area from healing completely.

Answer: Neosporin for FUE donor site Long-term use of Neosporin can lead to skin reactions. The donor area usually recovers pretty quickly- if you are having problems with it you're better off contacting your surgeon.
