Pimples on donor area after 6 weeks. Should I be worried? (Photo)

I have had an FUE hair transplant 6 weeks ago and have noticed a few red spots on the back of my head, I have seen on RealSelf this is quite common after surgery and my doctor said it was normal and to “pop” them gently. I use a prescribed shampoo everyday and massage the donor area gently a few minutes Is this something to be worried about or when should I be worried? Thank you Doctors.

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative issue as each doctor has their unique regimen.  As long as you follow your doctor's recommendation you should be fine.

It is not uncommon to have some pimples after the procedure at six weeks out.  You will need to apply some warm compresses on the pimples and have your surgeon reevaluate and express out the fluid under the pimples.  This is related to retained fragments of hair from the FUE.  In addition, it is usually more inflammatory rather than infectious.  It does not appear that you have a severe infection.

These pimples may reflect burried grafts and they usually drain as your doctor discussed. As long as your doctor saw them and understands what is happening to you, don't worry
