i got filler under eye. it looks lumpy. it has been 4 days since i had. should i massage?
Answer: Tear Trough Hi @Germainebbl581. Most facial filler products that are injected into this area should ideally be placed in the tissue plane directly on top of the bone, or at least underneath the eyelid muscle layer. If a facial filler product is placed too superficial in the skin, or on top of the muscle layer, the product may settle in with an abnormal appearance and can look to be lumpy, swollen, or irregular. The filler products that are preferred to treat this area will have some degree of affinity for water molecules so all of these products will exhibit some degree of hydration and swell once injected into the body. Hyaluronic acid facial filler products that were previously injected into an improper tissue plane can be dissolved by hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Filler Under Eyes and Swelling/Itching/Shape Change I suggest waiting 2 weeks to see the final results and if they are still lumpy reversing the fillers (depending on which one was injected). Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Lumps under the eyes after filler Hi Germaine, lumps under the eyes from filler can happen, especially since the skin is so thin. That is why it is very important to make sure the filler is placed deep, under the muscle in this region. Gentle massage can help. If it doesn't go away you may be a candidate for hyaluronidase if it was an HA based filler. Make sure to follow up with your injector to evaluate.

Answer: Fillers eyelids The lower eyelids are notoriously tricky when it comes to treatments with fillers. The skin is so thin and it takes such a modest amount of filler to effect a positive change that sometimes lumps can become present even with a small volume of filler. After an appropriate interval following initial treatment a person may be instructed to begin gentle fingertip massage along the area of filling to help smoothen the effect and reduce lumps. It depends on the filler that was used as to when to expect any lumps that have occurred to go away. After that duration then other modalities such as injection of a mild steroid can help resolve any lumps.
