Hi @Germainebbl581. Most facial filler products that are injected into this area should ideally be placed in the tissue plane directly on top of the bone, or at least underneath the eyelid muscle layer. If a facial filler product is placed too superficial in the skin, or on top of the muscle layer, the product may settle in with an abnormal appearance and can look to be lumpy, swollen, or irregular. The filler products that are preferred to treat this area will have some degree of affinity for water molecules so all of these products will exhibit some degree of hydration and swell once injected into the body. Hyaluronic acid facial filler products that were previously injected into an improper tissue plane can be dissolved by hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
I suggest waiting 2 weeks to see the final results and if they are still lumpy reversing the fillers (depending on which one was injected). Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi Germaine, lumps under the eyes from filler can happen, especially since the skin is so thin. That is why it is very important to make sure the filler is placed deep, under the muscle in this region. Gentle massage can help. If it doesn't go away you may be a candidate for hyaluronidase if it was an HA based filler. Make sure to follow up with your injector to evaluate.
The lower eyelids are notoriously tricky when it comes to treatments with fillers. The skin is so thin and it takes such a modest amount of filler to effect a positive change that sometimes lumps can become present even with a small volume of filler. After an appropriate interval following initial treatment a person may be instructed to begin gentle fingertip massage along the area of filling to help smoothen the effect and reduce lumps. It depends on the filler that was used as to when to expect any lumps that have occurred to go away. After that duration then other modalities such as injection of a mild steroid can help resolve any lumps.
That depends on the filler type, were it was injected, how it was injected and the person who received the injections. Usually between 5 to 14 days it takes for most of the swelling to resolve.Good luck!
Only in person examination would allow a determination if these are filler lumps or swelling.............
There are so many different types of fillers and so many indications on the face for which they can be used so there can be no blanket answer to your question. Using the same filler and for the same indication then the final result can vary even on the same patient! So, in short,...
Weight loss does cause facial volume loss (as does aging, however, turning 30 is still on the young spectrum in regards to facial volume loss). I would recommend Juvederm Voluma, the first filler FDA-approved for mid-face volume loss. This would be injected right along the top of the zygomatic...
I am sorry to hear about your bruising. This can occur and is the most common risk of any injectable treatment. It does not appear that you have any ischemia or vascular occlusion from the filler. However, your bruising on the right side is severe. This will probably take a couple of weeks to...
