When first starting Thermiva and adding in an O-Shot, what order and time in between should the 3 treatments and shot be given? I understand that it is recommended to get 3 treatments of Thermiva a month apart and then 1 follow up treatment annually; however, I am having a hard time finding out how to implement the O-Shot into this initial treatment as well. Should it be given a month after all 3 Thermiva treatments are complete, or should it be done in between the initial 3 Thermiva treatments - does it even matter? I was told by one doctor to do shot 6 weeks after the first Thermiva, but told differently by another. :/
Answer: ...What are you using ThermiVa FOR? What is your diagnosis..? ...It all depends on what you are treating! ThermiVa has no relation whatsoever with the O Shot. They are ENTIRELY different therapies. ThermiVa is indicated (or Laser...) in the vagina only for post-menopausal women who do not wish to take the time for estrogen or DHEA therapy to "rejuvenate" their vaginas, and probably for women who are looking for a temporary (laser lasts 1-1.5 years; RF 10-12 months) "fix" for theit mild urinary incontinence. It is not indicated, and does nothing at all for vaginal tightening in pre-menopausal women, despite its "Vaginal Rejuvenation" marketing, which is FDA OFF- LABEL and not supported by any real research whatsoever. Thermi and laser therapy of the vagina in post-menopausal women helps by increasing collagen and elastin in the tissue, which helps it to stretch and expand better. It helps vaginas stretch, not become springier and tighter...The O-Shot is indicated for women who wish to try a treatment with good anecdotal evidence and early evidence-based research as improving the odds of vaginally activated orgasm, and the improvement of overall orgasmic response. ThermiVa does nothing whatsoever to improve orgasm, although it may have a temporary placebo effect.. Do your homework, not just listen to slick marketing and the website of someone who has put out $90,000 for a ThermiVa machine...

CONTACT NOW Answer: How do I implement the O-Shot into my ThermiVa treatments? Dear Momofthreeplusone,Thank you for writing in with your excellent question.I've seen ThermiVa work well on women who had mild to moderate pelvic relaxation, treating leakage of urine, improving sensation for both partners, increasing lubrication and orgasmic intensity, but it only lasts about a year, and the results depend on how your body responds and, of course, the damage to your birth canal. Combining it with the O-Shot may enhance your body's response since both stimulate blood flow and collagen production. You can combine the O-Shot with your first ThermiVa treatment. I give the shot after the radiofrequency in the same visit. Sometimes I will give it at the second visit, as per my patient's preference. Some doctors prefer to space them apart but it is not necessary. To read more about ThermiVa, please visit the link below.I hope this information is helpful.Sincerely,Troy R. Answer: ThermiSmooth with PRP This is a great question. Remember the O-Shot uses your own PRP (platelet rich plasma) to activate the female orgasm system. ThermiVA uses radiofrequency to stimulate blood flow and tighten tissue and the pelvic floor. PRP is activated by trauma or calcium chloride. Radiofrequency cause a minor trauma and the body responds. I would do your 3 ThermiVA treatments and right after the last one add your PRP (O-Shot) during the same visit. That will give you a much better result. We discount our O-Shot if done with ThermiVa.. we call it ThermiO. Hope this is helpful to you. JB

Answer: What is the best timing of an O-Shot with Thermi treatments? Hello momof 3plus1,Combination treatments are wonderful in properly selected patients. You will obtain unique benefits from ThermiVa (RF), the O-Shot (PRP), and laser vaginal resurfacing procedures (CO2, Erbium YAG). With this trio of treatments there is improvement in lubrication, sensation, urinary symptoms, and orgasm. In women who choose RF, the Viveve Treatment in my practice, we perform the O-Shot on the same day as the single RF treatment. This maximizes the benefits of both. Viveve is superior to ThermiVa for many reasons, but one of them is that you only need one treatment. In women who also need full laser vaginal resurfacing, the FemiLift in my practice, we perform the O-Shot during one of the laser treatments and add some PRP into the vagina following each laser pass. This will often be combined with a Viveve Treatment, even on the same day!If you've decided on Thermi and O-Shot then go for it and have the O-Shot done immediately following the first Thermi treatment. The two subsequent Thermi treatments will continue to improve your results which will be temporary. Next year, or when Thermi looses its effectiveness, you may want to try the Viveve Treatment. I'm certain you'll notice superior, longer lasting results.Best of luck,Oscar A. Aguirre, MDUrogynecologist & Cosmetic Vaginal Surgeon

Answer: Timing of O shot after Thermiva I don't think there is a perfect answer. I apply the O shot after the last Thermiva, which can be done right after the Thermiva session. The idea being that you don't want to break down any of the restorative properties provided by the O shot through the thermal remodeling provided by Thermiva. That is more of an intuitive thought, not necessarily supported by studies. I'm sure it has functioned well when administered at different times, but that is just what I prefer.
