Thank you for your question. In my opinion, sex is not a determining factor when it comes to the duration of Thermiva results. The duration of the results depends on other factors such as age, initial degree of laxity, how many vaginal births you've had; even habits such as smoking will decrease the longevity of the effects. Typically once a year is recommended for touch ups but I find that the effects last longer - even 2 year in some people. Hope this helps! Dr. Dima
I always tell my patients that after the three initial sessions, you'll want to get a maintenance session every year or two (some women may wait longer and others may get this more frequently). You'll only get that maintenance session if you enjoyed the results you got from ThermiVa. Having sex or not shouldn't dramatically increase or decrease how long the results last for you.
Your vaginal tissues will revert back to baseline in one year regardless of your sexual history. This because the tissues will only respond so much to the radiofrequency treatments. Hope this helps. JB
Our office specializes in non-invasive vaginal and labial tightening procedures. After reviewing data from the different vaginal tightening procedures using RF or laser, our office offers the ThermiVA treatment to help tighten the vulva, upper vault of the vagina, increase moisture content within the vagina, tighten the clitoral hood, and recontour the labia minora and labia majora. The ThermiVa procedures represents an amazing treatment to redefine the contour of the inner and outer vulva. Patients typically need three treatments depending on the severity of the laxity. Our patients feel very little discomfort during the procedure and results continue to improve weeks after performing the ThermiVA treatment. During your consultation, the benefits of ThermiVa can be discussed in comparison to a perineoplasty, vulvar tightening procedure, clitoral hood reduction, or labial recontour. ThermiVa results last approximately 1 year and potentially longer if you are referring to laxity. However, each patient is different and results vary. I tell patient to return for annual maintenance when they start to notice a decline in results, whether that be 6 months after treatment or 16 months.
Thank you for your question, Thermiva typically last for about one year, maintenance treatments are recommend every six months to a year depending on the patient. Because it is not a permanent solution, if you want to maintain your results, maintenance should be done whether you are sexually active or not. I hope this was helpful. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for posting. On average ThermiVa last about one year but everyone is different and we do see satisfied patients post treatment going on almost 2 years and are still happy with their results. We also see patients who need a maintenance treatment before the one year mark. However, not having sex is not going to prolong the benefits of ThermiVa.
Dear Briandad510:The benefits of ThermiVa are NOT reversible. In other words, the benefits you receive will persist, but you will go on to age (and perhaps have more children) and may decide to have additional treatments. I have patients who had ThermiVa two years ago and report they still note all the benefits. To date, none of my patients have needed to return for additional treatment after three treatments. (I am aggressive with the settings and perform all treatments myself.)I hope this is helpful.
Whether or not you are sexually active does not have an impact on how long yourresults will last. ThermiVa works by gently warming the vaginal tissues to promotecollagen remodeling and optimize tissue tightening. “Touch up” sessions annuallymay or may not be needed in order to maintain collagen remodeling.
Thank you for your question regarding the longevity of ThermiVa. My experience and success using this treatment for non-sexual complaints, such as mild to moderate urinary incontinence in particular, clearly demonstrates that sexual activity is not a prerequisite for maintaining clinical tissue improvement for approximately a year, or even longer in some patients. No 'use it or lose it' as long as you remain within the recommended time window till your one annual maintainance treatment.Mark P. Gold, M.D., FACOG
Keeping it simple...lasers burn and cause damage which then becomes scar tissue. The scar tissue will make the vagina tighter. ThermiVa uses heat which stimulates tissues. This means tissues "rejuvenate". The lining is thickened, moisture is improved, and sensitivity is...
Thanks for asking your question. Blood thinners do not automatically bar you from getting Thermiva. Thermiva is non-surgical and doesn't break the skin. That being said, I would recommend seeing your physician and giving him your complete medical history so that you and he together and come up...
Hello. I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. That is a great question and a question patients may have in the early stages of treatment. While some women report feeling immediate improvement, especially with moisture and tightness, it can take a few weeks or e...
