How long should I expect swelling to last after Vollure XC?

I am having Vollure XC to reduce my Bertie smokers lines. I am not having a lip enhancement, just the vertical lines. How long should I expect the swelling to be noticeable? Thank you!

Hi and thanks for your question.Swelling is not uncommon after injectables, and it can take up to 2 weeks for the swelling to settle down.Sleep with your head elevated, drink lots of water, and you can use arnica topically to help the swelling go down.Have a wonderful day!Dr. Taghizadeh

Great questions.  Swelling and bruising can last up to 10-14 days after filler injection. Every patient is different and it is sometimes hard to predict.  It is always best to plan for a worst case scenario.  The more you ice after the injections the better off you will be.

Swelling can last 1-2 weeks after filler injections. I would wait a full 2 weeks before assessing results. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It is typical to have swelling post filler injection for 1-2 weeks but it may go down noticeably in a couple of days.  You should be able to resume normal social activities right away.  You can decrease your swelling by icing the area, taking arnica, and for a week in advance avoiding medications and supplements that can thin your blood like NSAIDS, turmeric, fish oil, alcohol etc.  Hope this helps and good luck!

Great question! Everyone responds to filler treatments differently depending on anatomy and area treated, age, genetics, medication use, overall health and nutrition status, and, of course, provider experience and technique. Post filler swelling can last anywhere form 1 to 14 days. I am a fan of using lost of ice prior to and before doing filler treatments in the face which can help minimize post procedure swelling. Seek an experienced medical provider who does treatments on a regular basis. With smokers lines, you may want to consider doing a fine simple outline of the lips as well to allow the smokers lines that cross the lips to "break" for a more natural appearance. Ask your provider what they suggest to optimize your natural look.
