How can I fix my long face? (Photo)

Question

I've always been insecure of my face length and have been looking for answers on how I can shorten it and make it smaller through surgery. What kind of options would I have? I'd like to achieve a more smooth, oval face shape.

Thank you for your question and picture. It's difficult to say for sure what can be done looking at this one picture. Things to consider would be chin/jaw reduction surgery to shorten the height, and to add volume in cheek/temple areas (either by fillers/fat/Sculptra) to make your face look more round. I highly recommend for you to have a consultation with a board certified and experienced plastic/facial surgeon to be completely evaluated and discuss your options.

You may benefit from a browlift which will lower your hairline, decrease the width of your forehead and make your face less elliptical.

The ideal face should look heart shaped and the most prominent part should be the cheeks. You have excellent skin and texture and structure. The only thing you need is fillers in temple and cheeks to balance the face.

Your question is entirely impossible to answer. This goes for many other questions as well, but distorted photographs that eliminate key features removes the ability to judge balance between eyes, nose, mouth, jawline, forehead, height, face with, etc. make it impossible to provide a reasonable judgment.

This would most likely be done with a maxillary osteotomy or maxillary reduction.
This procedure is most commonly done by oral surgeons or plastic surgeons with cranial facial surgery background.
