Filler in Breasts, Voluma? (photo)

Question

Can Voluma be injected into the breasts? I know it would be very expensive, but it seems like it would be good because it lasts a long time and doesn't seem to cause problems with lumps. Are there needles that can inject deep into the breasts so the filler would provide support and sort of just help push the breasts out to give projection?

Voluma is indicated for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss. An extremely large amount would be needed to create a significant difference at the breasts and it actually can be lumpy if large amounts were to be injected into the breasts. It would also be very costly and end up costing more than a breast augmentation would. It is not recommended to use Voluma at the breasts as it is only designed be used at the face.

Voluma is FDA approved for mid face volume loss.  I would not recommend injecting a hyaluronic acid in the breasts.  Your breasts look to have "tight" lower pole skin.  An implant is highly recommended.  The skin below your nipple will need to stretch to accommodate the implant.  Physical assessment by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon is highly recommended.Thank you.

Injecting large volumes of fillers into the breasts is something that has been tried and abandoned years ago.  Surgeons for good reason now use safe and modern implants for natural results.  I strongly advise a consultation with a qualified physician for advise on breast augmentation.  Now, on Voluma, it is an amazing way to put volume back in the midface!!

Voluma would not be cost-effective. a product called macro lane is injected in sufficient quantities for this application and comes with the right needles etc...however it is not FDA approved in USDr. Malouf

While there are going to be off-label uses for all fillers, I have not seen it used in the breasts for actual volume creation. It would require SO MANY syringes to get this done, and there are "precautions" given with any filler as to how many syringes a person should have at any time. Note, it's something like 18 syringes - so it is a lot - but still, that is how much it would take to create volume in the breasts. The additional thing is that all fillers need to be injected at specific depths - so it's hard to inject it into soft tissue like in the breasts because there would need to be varying depths injected for proper lifting. Overall, I just don't see this being a good solution. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot
