Hi I have a dent on my right leg, I always it was cellulite but someone said maybe I hit myself somehow and left a dent. I had it ever since I can remember. I healthy super healthy and do strength training 6 times a week, the little cellulite I had on my other leg is gone my this dent just doesn't look any different. Is it cellulite or damaged muscle/tissue? And could it be fixed? How much would it cost me?
Answer: Trauma V. Panniculitis Some patients can develop fat atrophy in an isolated area such as your situation from either steroid injections, trauma, or an inflammatory condition called panniculitis. Treatment can involve the use of fat transfer with scar release. You would be a good candidate, but may require at least two treatments to achieve a good result. This procedure can typically be performed in the office under local anesthesia which reduces the cost substantially. Visit our website for pricing information. Best wishes.

Answer: Will Fat Injections Help Fix a Dent on my Leg?
I perform hundreds of liposuction procedures and fat transfers to defects each year. This is probably the best treatment for your area of concern. Find a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of liposuction and fat grafting procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Fat transfer
Yes , this would be the most reasonable procedure. Evaluation with motion may show bands that require cutting with a "pickle fork" instrument which often has ability to fat graft as well. Can do this procedure in the office under local anesthesia. As said elsewhere often 2 or 3 sessions are needed to complete the job and i usually wait at least 3 months between sessions. Good Luck!

Answer: Fat Injections for Dents
Yes, in most cases, fat injections can help smooth dents in other places in the body. In most cases, the dents can be made less deep and less obvious. Fat is harvested through a mini liposuction technique. The fat cells are then purified in a centrifuge and injected in the area of the dent.
Good Luck.

Answer: Dent
Dear patient, It is difficult to make a full evaluation with just one photo. I believe that there is a small possibility that you have a skin condition called Morphea. It is not dangerous but you should see a Dermatologist for a full evaluation and treatment. Trauma can cause dents but this would be a very un-usual place for you to get trauma that caused fat necrosis and not remember the event. Fat atrophy from trauma also does not cause the discoloration that I see in the photo. Is the skin a little hard to touch? Once you have ruled out Morphea we can start addressing the dent. Fat transfer with PRP is a great way to fix the problem. Downtime is minimal (2-3 days) and cost is about $1500
