Nasal bone shifted? Or swelling? (photos)

You can have swelling and see changes to your nose all the way to 12 months.Have you been back for a follow visit since the surgery?We see our patients back many times during the 12 month period so we can help with the anxiety of waiting on the changes to occur. It is very helpful for patients to come back and look at photos that were taken each visit so they can see the changes for themselves etc...

Thank you for your question.It is too early to tell what may be going on.  It is likely swelling, which can take months (and up to a year) to resolve to see the final shape of your nose.  Even if there is a small bone irregularity, remember that no nose is perfectly straight.

Yes it sure could be swelling.  this is an early time to judge.  No nose (even nice ones) are perfect and exact.  Be sure to discuss with your own surgeon about how this applies to you, and whether they have any special concerns in your case.

Your single photo reveals persistent nasal swelling, so the small bulge you are pointing to may improve on its own. Feel free to reask your question in another month after more swelling has resolved.Hope this helps you.Dr Joseph

It is best not to feel the nose as there are always irregularities that you can feel after a rhinoplasty. However if you see a depression it can be filled with a filler or grafted with cartilage. The nose continues to change easily for 3 months, so wait a little longer before deciding on any intervention.regardsDr.J

Yes, it could still be swelling. Remember, no nose is ever perfectly straight.  The platform or base it sits on is never exactly equal on both sides.
