Massage, RF treatments, Venus Legacy and hyperbaric oxygen will drastically reduce swelling. In my practice, I have patients use double compression (foam underneath and full body suit on top), 24/7 for 3-4 weeks and then nightly for another 3-4 weeks. I suggest consulting with your physician if you have concerns, and continue to follow his or her post op protocol. Best, Dr. Emer
Postoperative care instructions should be reviewed before and after surgery with your plastic surgeon.I suggest a simple follow up visit or a call to your doctor to review what's best for you. Some plastic surgeons believe massage is important or indicated.I personally do not.if you have not had your procedure yet but I'm sure your plastic surgeon will arrange all of this for you before your procedure and discuss it during your postop appointments.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.

In my practice we use scar gel and vaseline and often there is drains or stitching. Some spots are left open to heal and this is normal. You should have a wound care instruction sheet, if not, speak to your physician. Avoid neosporin or bacitracin or a + d ointment. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for submitting your question. A photo would be helpful. Swelling (lumps and bumps) after liposuction will last for many weeks after surgery. Final results take 6-12 months. At 11 weeks you should have a smoother result. Discuss your concerns with your Plastic surgeon.
