What can I do about this buffalo Hump growing in my back?

But simple liposuction that would take less than 10 minutes in the office could get rid of the hump but you need a good physical exam assessment to make sure that it could be corrected in this manner. Thank you for your question.  Liposuction of the buffalo hump is a safe and commonly performed procedure. I typically use ultrasonic liposuction as the fat in this region is more dense. The hump between the shoulders comes from an accumulation of fat on the upper back, and liposuction is the usual approach. That said, it's important to first determine the cause of the hump, which is something a board-certified plastic surgeon can do in a consultation. A buffalo hump is usually a fatty deposit in the upper back/neck area.  This can be treated effectively with liposuction.

The buffalo hump can be reduced or almost eliminated with liposuction. There are usually very good results.

Without a physical exam, it is difficult to say what is causing this hump.  However, it is not unusual for a lipoma or fatty tissue to cause a "buffalo hump" at the base of the neck and upper back.  If this is the case an energy assisted type of liposuction, such as ultrasound assisted (Vaser-lipo) liposuction can treat this problem.  Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon who is able to perform this procedure.
