Question

I just got lipo 3 days ago ..I notice one of my incision there's no medical tape or stitches.. I'm scare it's going to get infected .. I put some neosporin and a gauze pad over it .. I email my doctor too n no response

In my practice we use scar gel and vaseline and often there is drains or stitching. Some spots are left open to heal and this is normal.  You should have a wound care instruction sheet, if not, speak to your physician.  Avoid neosporin or bacitracin or a + d ointment.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Maggie,Thanks for your question and photos. Everything appears good. I would continue doing what you are doing. Avoid the sun as your scar will tan and leave a permanent mark. Wait to hear from your surgeon, if redness, swelling or fevers, occur make sure to be seen asap. Good luck!

Many surgeons do not use stitches after liposuction. There does not appear to be any infection.Your course of action is reasonable until you see your surgeon for follow up.

Thank you for your question and congratulations on your surgery.  Many physicians choose to leave their liposution ports open to drain some of the excess fluid placed during surgery.  You have taken care of the incision appropriately and your body will slowly heal this from the "inside-out."  Hope this helps

Your incision looks intact, and just has a small amount of skin abrasion on the edges, which is normal.  You're doing the right thing until you hear back from your PS.
