I’m 5 weeks PO with a mommy makeover. I went with Mentor 350cc smooth mod plus. I feel like with my wide chest, I could’ve gone with 450cc or higher. I wanted more cleavage &closer cleavage and I’m discouraged I won’t get what I wanted. Will I still D &F? My PS lowered my fold and cut the center muscles to try to get them closer (I think that’s what she told me, if that makes sense) I’m happy, especially after breastfeeding kids. Any suggestions for a revision next year?
Answer: Can I expect to drop and fluff more? I am sorry to hear about your concerns after breast augmentation surgery. Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to accurate assessment and/or advice. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery. The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. Also, in my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: When to expect full drop and fluff You look great for just five weeks after mommy makeover - you and your surgeon have clearly done lovely work. Five weeks is still pretty early in terms of results, and I would imagine that as the next several weeks to months tick by, you will continue to see subtle but sure improvement. Depending on their starting anatomy and the size/placement of their implants, some patients will see the final drop and fluff of their implants as late as 9-12 months after surgery. As you approach that postoperative mark and if you are still not completely satisfied with your results, your plastic surgeon should be able to help with a plan for revision - perhaps a larger sized implant and/or some additional capsule and soft tissue work - to get you closer to what you ultimately want.Hope this helps, and best of luck,Dr. Lim

Answer: Redo breasts augmentation Dear Mommy,Thanks for posting your pictures and sorry for your disappointing breasts augmentation result. From observing your breasts pictures you appear to be B cup size with wide cleavage and level 1-2 ptosis (droopiness) . You are still early in the healing process , so things will continue to improve and fluff, especially if you do implants displacement massage. It takes 3-4 months for things to settle down , so, at that time you will be able to assess the result and decide about your happiness with the outcome. I have been in practice for over 30 years and have performed breasts augmentation surgery on thousands of patients. Based on that experience and your pictures I regret to tell you that your cup size, cleavage and ptosis will not improve much , so , most likely you will need revision surgery. You did not provide your chest circumference measurement in inches , which is critical for the correct implants size selection. Let's assume that you are currently 36 B cup size, to become 36 full C cup size you will need implants with volume of 600 cc. For 36 C cup - 525 cc. In addition you will need: 1. capsulotomy (scar release) to obtain nice cleavage and make room for the bigger implant. 2. Mini lift (donut, Benelli)) to get you a more perky and youthful looking breasts. Discuss it with your surgeon. If you lost your confidence in her, consult with other experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Recovery You can still expect changes as you continue through recovery. Your breasts will continue to soften as the implants settle in the pocket. Final results are not seen for 3-6 months after surgery. Continue to follow the advice of your plastic surgeon for optimal results.
