Answer: Tanning Sun exposure and tanning beds are not recommended due to the increased risk for skin cancer as well as the aging effects. However, if you still choose to use them you will need to protect your scars from UV rays for a minimum of one year to prevent pigmentation. Once your scars are completely healed I recommend a physical blocking UV sunscreen. Your surgeon will be able to provide further advice as to what is best for you and when it is safe to put sunscreen on your incisions.

Answer: Tanning after TT and breast lift: I don't tan for the hell of it, I tan to treat recurring pityriasis rosacea. The best answer can be obtained from the PS who performs your breast lift. After your scars are healed, spray tanning should be OK, but you state that these do not work for you. UV exposure after breast surgery is a problem with regard to possible scar pigmentation changes, so no tanning for 1 year would be advised. If you must, obtain your PS's approval to go to a tanning booth 3 months after the BBL. If you are a poor scar former, wait until the liposuction scars are completely faded before tanning after BBL.
