As a patient it would be very helpful to know beforehand how many grafts / hair can be used for an FUE transplantation before the remaining donor grafts / hair give a thinning appearance and don´t fully cover the donor area anymore. Based on which measuring procedure (eg. hair mass index) and formula do you accurately calculate the max. available number? Real life examples would be appreciated.

Answer: FUE Total Grafts In general, about 3600 (1800 per surgery) total grafts are available in 2 FUE surgeries if safe donor area is used. Sub-epidermal scarring makes a third FUE surgery difficult.
