Redness in the recipient area one month after FUE hair transplant, what can I do?

I had a FUE transplant hairline restoration op on the 2nd May. One month on, the redness in the recipient area is very visible, no other symptoms of infection, itching, swelling fever etc. From most responses, that you advise a follow up appointment with the surgeon however my only point of contact, my patient co-ordinator, keeps telling me to wait and has offered no advice or any assistance in aiding the recovery. Numerous sites state that all signs of the procedure should be gone by now.

If you are having issues after surgery, especially with "redness" you should contact your doctor.The faster you are seen by your doctor, the faster you can receive treatment.Internet cannot offer you treatment.You paid LOTS OF MONEY to the doctor for your surgery, the least they can do is get you in contact with the doctor if you are having issues after surgery. It may be nothing but it may also be a slow brewing infection.

Typically the redness resolves over a month or so but can last longer.It is usually due to hypervascularity-increased blood flow-but can sometimes be a function of the skin type.This may take 3-6 months or more to fully resolve.

The redness remains just after surgery and it is "normal" to stay 14-21 days or more. That pinkish redness/discoloration may fade away in a long time up to 3-4 months . İt depends on your skin color/fitzpatrick classification (Lighter the color of your skin , more reddish discoloration on skin after surgery). I recommend you to use nothing for that temporary situation.

At one month if you are still red in the recipient area, go back to see your doctor who may prescribe steroid creams
