gothem,Thanks for the question. Your question seems to be asking a question about a balance of facial features. The mid face can be shortened from a skeletal standpoint, though most of the time adding balance in the form of fillers or fat grafting may be a better and less invasive option. Implants to "build out" a "long" face are also an option. Only a physical exam with a lengthy discussion during a consultation will really tell what the best option for you is. Good luck!
Without photos, I am only guessing, but a long mid-face is often due to lack of volume in the front of the cheek. Adding volume with filler or an implant can help to reshape the portion of your face that is giving you grief. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to be examined in person and discuss.
Hi, in my experience of performing many facial shaping procedures, using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek implants, chin implant, lip implants), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years...an elongated face or mid face is due to lack of shape (volume) in the front portion of the cheeks. Following my facial beauty principles that I have developed over the past 3 decades, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using silastic cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face. Conversely, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation.Hope this helps.

Hi ivygirl,The only concern about losing weight, in terms of the final result of the facelift, is the loss of volume that can occur. As we age, the face sags from gravity, but we also lose volume. Losing volume in the face will definitely affect the result of the facelift.I do not think that los...
Without photos, it's hard to say. Fillers may help but the issue it typically due to the skin being "over-pulled". So sorry that you are experiencing this. Best of luck.
