Are these burns or bruises after laser lipo in arms? (Photo)

Question

I am 12 days post op laser lipo in upper arms and BBL abroad. My arms had red bruising from the laser in the beginning. I wear compression for both my arms and have not looked much at them the last days. I showered today at my own, and got panic when I saw the scars on my arms. Are this bruising or BURNS? Will they fade away, or stay discolored? Is there some treatment they should have? I will travel back to my home country tomorrow. Do I need to se a doctor? Please help!

Bruising is quite common after liposuction. We would recommend application of Plato's Bruise Balm for the bruises as it contains both Arnica and Bromelain. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Thanks for the question, hard to tell from a picture but it does have a classic appearance of a bruise, I suggest seeing a local board certified doc to be sure

From your photos, it appears you have bruising.  However, please see your doctor before you travel.

Your marks do not appear to be from thermal injury.If they were burns, they would most likely have blistered.The patterns of your skin trauma are a bit unusual.You should absolutely follow up with your surgeon.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
