How long should I wait after laser liposuction to get more? Can the fat be used to transfer to my butt?

Thanks for the question, the final results should come at 3-6 months once the swelling starts to settle, I wouldn't suggest going back into the same areas for at least a year in order to see the final result

I typically tell people to wait at least 3 months after surgery to have another surgery.  Post laser fat is not the best fat to transfer, but I have done it many times with excellent results.  My only caveat to patients is that it may reduce the chance of a good take to the buttock or elsewhere.  However, with proper technique you can get amazing results if you are a good candidate and still have fat, excellent skin tone and texture, as well as muscular development.  I suggest going to an expert who will contour and shape you to your goals.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Laser liposuction is
a great procedure that can have tremendous results when done correctly. In
order to see the ultimate results from the procedure, you need to wait at least
six months, and many will tell their patients to wait 12 months before redoing
the procedure.



Laser liposuction
cannot be used for fat transfer so if this was part of the plan, this was not
the appropriate procedure for you. A later procedure, without lasers can be
used if you want to have this done.



And finally, if you
have not seen the results that you were expecting, what has your physician told
you, and what adjunctive procedures might be beneficial for you to help you get
the results you want. Many would add in some radiofrequency (RF) treatments to
the treated areas to help with the skin tightening if it is not happening fast
enough. But time does make things happen so check with your doctor to make sure
that things are going the way they are supposed to be going.

You would definitely want to switch to VASER if you want to consider fat grafting to the buttocks. I would suggest you wait about 4 or more months before repeating the surgery to ensure all swelling is resolved and the remaining fat cells are viable enough for transfer.  At that point, it is unlikely that you will have more than the normal 50% absorption of transferred fat. 250mL is a VERY small amount of fat to remove so is a little unusual. Please make sure that you schedule  consultations with board certified plastic surgeons with experience in this type of surgery. Good luck!

Sorry for you poor results. If you desired fat grafts than SmartLipo was NOT indicated. Best you see a few in person boarded Plastic Surgeons. But you schedule sounds unusual.. 

Based on what you are saying, you may need to get a second opinion or consider the qualifications of your surgeon.250 mL seems very low for the number of areas you had treated.Based on that, I'm not surprised you don't see major improvements.It's much too early for you to have liposuction for the second time.I ask my patients to wait six months prior to having a procedure done again.If you are interested in fat transfer, such as a Brazilian butt lift, then traditional liposuction is the procedure of choice.You could certainly have VASER done to create a midline crease.I see no need to add that equipment since a midline crease can be created with any liposuction technique.It is generally best to stay local for surgery.Having surgery in other geographic areas limits follow-up. This can be especially troublesome when things don't go well.I suggest you consult with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon in your hometown to see what your options are.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
