I recently had a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to correct my Gynecomastia. He claims that the Laser Liposuction will remove the breast tissue. Then, he'll use traditional Liposuction to contour the chest. From what I've read online, the only way to remove the breast tissue is through excision. I specifically asked about having the tissue removed via excision, but he said the Laser will take care of it. I'm not quite sure what to believe.

Answer: Laser and Glands Laser liposuction does not remove glandular tissue. This is a true face and if you have glands that are enlarged they need to either be removed with surgery or if they are small can be partially removed with VASER. Laser works great for contouring the chest, this is something I do very often. I suggest a second opinion from someone who does a lot of chest contouring and gynecomastia treatment. I wish you the best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Will Laser Liposuction remove the glandular tissue from Gynecomastia? Laser liposuction will remove glandular tissue from the breast, but it is dependent on how much is there. If it is a little amount it's usually no problem. If however there is a lot of gland than sometime a combination procedure is necessary. I can't tell you any more without a good physical examination.
