I had Botox done in my forehead, Glabella and crows feet on Thursday 1/31. Today, Sunday 2/3, my eyebrows are drooping significantly, causing me difficulty in looking straight ahead or up, and, due to the strain, it’s causing a headache. Is there anything that can be done to help or am I stuck with the vision strain and drooping for a few months? I still have quite a bit of movement in my forehead (picture 3) so I’m really worried its going to worsen.
Answer
It's still relatively recent since your Botox injections. The results may change in the next few days. With that said, there is no reversal agent available for Botox. Once it is injected, the product is usually broken down and excreted from your body within a few days. The results or the amount of time that it takes your body to regain function in the muscle it Is usually 3 to 4 months. Have patience with this and allow your doctor to reassure you during your process. Best of luck.

The peak onset of action of botox is after 2 weeks and hopefully this dropping sensation will improve. If not, there are some techniques to lift the brow using advanced botox techniques, and there are some skin tightening procedures that are non-invasive and can help lift the brow such as Ulthera. I strongly recommend contacting your doctor about your concerns and seeing a board certified dermatologist for further assessment.

Hi there! Thank you for your question. Botox takes up to two weeks to take full effect so the chances are things will improve over this period. If you are still concerned after this time you should visit your practitioner for a review. Although Botox cannot be reversed, it is possible to tweak and correct certain issues on follow up. Second to that, it will start to wear off after 3-4 months. Hope this helps! Best Wishes, Dr. Ruper

Botox results can take up to 2 weeks - so these issues could subside over the next week. The results typically last 3 to 4 months and can be softened with Venus Legacy and Thermage treatments. If you're still experiencing these issues 2 weeks post-injection, I recommend following up with your physician or getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert. Botox is considered to be in full effect two weeks after injection. Some patients complain of a heavy feeling in their brow which may resolve after a few weeks. There is no reversal agent for Botox, but it will gradually wear off over 3 to 4 months. If your symptoms continue or worsen, contact your injector for an evaluation.
