Hello, I’m 27 year old female with issues with a constantly blocked nose. I’m not sure if I have a deviated or perforated septum, also concerned I may have a bifold tip. Any advice or reccomendations would be welcome
Answer: Nasal obstruction Hello, The only way to determine this would be to see a board certified facial plastic surgeon or surgeon that deals with rhinoplasty. The best way is to have a examination inside your nose with a headlight called anterior rhinoscopy and see what is going inside your nose. Looking up causes of nasal obstruction can be stressful so see a expert and see what is going on because there are scary things out there but that does not mean that is happening to your nose !

Answer: A bifid nasal tip appearance is associated with thin nasal skin. Based on your photos, you appear to have a small and unobtrusive nasal appearance. Are you dissatisfied with the appearance of your nose? If you have any inclination of changing the appearance of your nose, it is always best to have this done at the time of functional septoplasty surgery. Please consider meeting with several reputable facial plastic surgery rhinoplasty specialist who can address both of your functional and aesthetic concerns. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty to change shape... Based on your photos, you appear to be a good candidate for rhinoplasty. The tip can be refined, making it a bit thinner and not quite as long, and the bridge can be shaved to match. The septal deviation would be taken care of at the same time. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation and computer imaging to give you an idea of how it can look.

Answer: Looks ok Your nose looks ok with regard to a cleft or other more unusual problem. A nasal obstruction could be caused by septal deviation, allergies, or poor support of the sides of the nose. All of that is easily determined on examination. A perforation of your septum is unlikely unless you have a history of more serious medical issues.
