I'm looking to book a consultation for the summer. the problem is I would like to reduce the width of my nose but keep the shape of it. basically I would like my front profile to change but not my side profile( but also I'm okay with a little change as long as it means I get to keep the bump) is it possible to perform such a surgery or does width reduction require the bump to be removed as well? are my expectations doable or is there no surgeon who would be willing to do the this?

Answer: Very possible Any rhinoplasty surgeon should be focused on helping you achieve your personal goals while maintaining / improving function (breathing). The best way to determine what is possible is during a consultation with your plastic surgeon, but in principle that sounds doable.

Answer: How we do plastic surgery assessments To make an assessment, we need quality information. This means at a minimum we need to see pictures. Trying to describe in words what you’re hoping to achieve really isn’t very helpful. If you’re motivated enough to have surgery, then schedule if you in person consultations with plastic surgeons in your community. Changing the width of your nose is difficult and more complex than changing other aspects. It can be done, but it comes with certain drawbacks like potentially visible scars around the nostrils. I think you’ll be better off saving your questions for a proper consultation. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
