Thank you for your question regarding whether you’re a good candidate for VASER liposuction of the abdomen. In my opinion, you have excess skin and fat of the abdomen as well as muscle weakness. This is why your belly sticks out. You would do much better with a tummy tuck. VASER lipo will only take care of the fat. It will not contract the skin. I would recommend muscle tightening. Therefore in my opinion I would skip the VASER lipo and proceed directly to undergoing a tummy tuck with muscle plication. Hello @Diligent265189 thank you fort your question and showing your picture. Vaser is an excellent surgical technique to improve the proportion of fat in the tissues. And it will depend on the surgical expectations to consider or not in your case a mini abdominoplasty, because when removing part of what holds the tissues of the abdomen which is the fat may present some more flaccidity generating inconformity in the final result of the process. Since you have a cesarean section you can think of performing a less invasive technique in which this is improved by generating a scar just a little longer than the one you already have and you can plicate the muscle to improve your diastasis. According to the pictures, in my opinion the most suitable option should be tummy tuck (Abdominoplasty) and Vaser liposuction on flanks and possibly back area.
I am Vaser lipo surgeon and not specialist in abdominoplasty procedure however I work in collaboration with plastic surgeons specialised in this procedure. The key here is to understand what you would like to achieve, what are your expectations. In my clinical practice, if a patient refuses to undergo for tummy tuck surgery, then after a careful medical assessment, they could be a possible candidate for Vaser lipo for the circumferential torso, abdomen, flanks and lower back in order to improve the overall silhouette and body contour. The combination of Vaser lipo with J plasma- Renuvion will allow to increase the probability of skin tightening. My experience is not only fat removal but also body contouring.
Compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage sessions after the surgery and healthy diet and exercise can also help. However, your saggy/excess skin and in the abdomen and possible "mucle separation" will not improve and so if you are unhappy after 4-6 months then you should consider surgical treatment to remove the excess of loose skin. The above approach (Circumferential body Vaser lipo) is an option for many women who want to improve their body contour/silhouette with less scars and avoid tummy tuck.
I would strongly suggest to make a consultation with an expert Vaser/ body contouring surgeon for a medical/surgical assessment in order to consider the best suitable treatment.

Thank you for your question and photo. Based on this single view photo, you are a good candidate for VASER Hi Def Liposuction 360 degrees. This is a 3D reshaping as opposed to what your surgeon is planning for you. The C-section scar can be greatly improved as well.
See a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.
BTW, the VASER is a tool, and will not lead to the same results if your surgeon does not know how to use it correctly.

In my experience, many women have achieved great results and avoid a tummy tuck with its larger scars and recovery.

Discuss further with your plastic surgeon until you feel comfortable with your concerns.

VASER is your best option (for skin tightening) if you definitely don’t want the lipectomy. Secondary surgeries shouldn’t be riskier due to the VASER. We have performed many secondary surgeries after VASER without problems. The issue is why you would like a revision. If it is for loose skin, doing VASER won’t be the best choice. Tummy tuck would be the choice. If you need to remove more fat deposits, VASER actually makes the secondary surgery easier for the surgeon. Then, VASER is a good choice for you right now.

HelloThank you for the question, you have some excess skin above the c section scar. Vaser liposuction is a good choice to improve the shape. As you clearly mentioned the scar needs to be revised too.

What you need is VASER liposuction and a mini tummy tuck which will a)revise your tethering; b)tighten you skin so that proper liposuction can be done, and c)improve your belly button position and shape so that it looks more athletic. Personally I don’t think VASER has that much more to offer than any other form of Liposuction. The device has been around for a long time and I used to use it in the 1990s. The equipment is irrelevant in comparison to the surgeon who does the procedure.


We’re making an assessment on the front of someone’s abdomen there are four variables to consider.

In other words if someone doesn’t like The way their belly looks it is always because of one or more of four reasons.

The first is skin laxity. List typically comes from previous pregnancies or weight loss and is best treated with a tummy tuck. To assess for skin laxity simply pull your skin until it’s tight and see if that gives an improvement in regards to contour and what your abdomen looks like. In your case I think skin is the primary component or variable. The second variable is subcutaneous fat. To assess the fat thickness put your skin gently under tension and gently pushing with one finger tip until you feel the underlying muscle wall. I’m guessing your fat thickness is 3/4 of an inch. you can expect about half to 3/4 of that to be removed with Liposuction. The third variable is muscle separation from previous pregnancies called a diastaces recti. A straight muscle wall should make a bee line from your pubi bone to your sternum. If it bulges from that then it is most likely muscle separation in women who’ve had children. Muscle separation is best treated with a full tummy tuck. The last variable is excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat. I don’t think you have much excess visceral fat.

Skin laxity is your primary problem and Liposuction isn’t going to address that.

The front of your abdomen will look more or less the same. Replacing one scarf with another scar without removing any skin isn’t going to have much impact on how to skin laxity falls at your scar line.

The correct procedure for you is a full tummy tuck. You can opt for liposuction but the overall appearance of your abdomen from the front isn’t going to change very much. If how the skin folds at your C-section scar bothers you then consider having a mini tummy tuck.

I’m guessing your abdomen looked fine before your first pregnancy and that your concern is really pregnancy related changes.

Pregnancies do not cause a change in fat distribution and pregnancy related changes are not treated with Liposuction.

Procedures that don’t treat the primary problem are going to give partial or limited improvements. You may be a good candidate for the postuction of your love handles, waist, back and under arm area but you only showed one picture.

Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe.

There is an enormous variation in outcomes from Liposuction depending on who does the procedure.

Choosing the most talented and experienced provider isn’t by far the most important variable.

Obviously if somebody isn’t a good candidate for liposuction the results are going to be limited no matter who does the procedure.

You’re ,not, not a candidate for Liposuction but you are a better candidate for a tummy tuck. In the end it depends what you’re trying to achieve and what you’re willing to go through. if you want a tight flat abdomen then you’ll need a different procedure. if you want to reduce the subcutaneous fat layer to some degree the liposuction will do that. It will mimic weight loss to some extent.

The areas where you are probably the best candidate for Liposuction as the sides and back but it’s hard to assess those without pictures.

The reason those areas will do well is because they were not affected by your pregnancies.

In other words in those areas subcutaneous fat is the primary problem and cause for your current body shape.

I recommend all patients considering Liposuction have multiple in person consultations.

During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for abdominal or torso liposuction results. sing a handful of selected representative pictures which in fact are most likely the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like. specifically ask providers to show before and after pictures of patients who have very similar body characteristics to your own. that should not be difficult to find for any experienced plastic surgeon since postpartum women’s abdomen‘s represent 70% of all Liposuction cases. an experienced surgeon should have no difficulty showing you 50 or more sets of before and after pictures.

When looking at before and after pictures confirm the exact areas they were treated or not treated or included in the procedure and look carefully at the transition zones.

Personally I view the torso as a single anatomic unit and either treat the entire torso or I don’t do liposuction. I do not believe in spot treating the torso.

If I treat the front the night treat the back and if I treat the lower part I treat the upper part.

Technically a full torso includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, pubic area if indicated, love handles, waist, full back and under arms.

There’s nothing wrong with you having Liposuction just don’t expected to deliver tummy tuck results.

Finding the most talented and experienced provider is by far the most important decision.

Congratulations for a great recovery from both of your pregnancies.
The skin can stretch out a lot, and it is amazing how the skin tightens as well as it does, but then stops.
Vaser is a option to lipo with mild skin tightening. Renuvion would be a good combination with Vaser at the same time to help the skin tighten more. They are the two best technologies together for skin tightening and body contouring for those who are not ready or need a full tummy tuck.
