Thank you for your question regarding if you can undergo liposuction, a BBL, and a tummy tuck in one procedure. The answer is possibly. It depends on your health, the confidence of your plastic surgeon, and careful postoperative planning for your healing position. Let me explain. During your consultation, your board-certified plastic surgeon will carefully examine you to determine if you have enough fat for the BBL procedure. Successful BBLs are based on multiple components including whether you have enough fat and whether the buttock will accept the fat. Other issues become postoperative positioning to minimize compression of the transplanted fat cells. It is also very important for you to consult with your internist to make sure that all of your labs, EKG, and x-rays are in order before the surgery. If your plastic surgeon is confident and your internist believes it is safe to undergo the procedure, I believe you can undergo a successfully combined liposuction, BBL, and tummy tuck. Postoperatively, it will be very important for you to be in a recumbent position with your tummy flexed. Ideally, your tummy will be flexed at 90°. I have my combined tummy tuck and BBL patient sleep on a customized BBL mattress to minimize any pressure on the newly transplanted buttock fat cells. This mattress is able to protect the buttock fat and will allow for the patient to remain bent while protecting their tummy tuck results. It is not a wise idea to lay on your tummy after a tummy tuck because it can stretch the incision and lead to wound opening. Therefore, you can see that you can’t undergo this procedure but multiple factors are involved. I hope this helps answer your question. Good luck. \Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
