I had my full tummy tuck with muscle repair 2 months ago and I am left with these bulges that won’t go down on my hips. Are they dog ears? Will lipo help?
Answer: How to Correct for Dog Ears After Tummy Tuck Thank you for your question regarding whether you have dog ears after your tummy tuck and whether liposuction will help. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Examining your pictures, yes, you do indeed have dog years. Dog ears are excess skin and fat at the end of the incision. In my opinion, liposuction will make this area worse, not better. You have excess skin and fat. Liposuction will only remove the fat. Therefore, you need the skin removed. I would suggest the excision of your dog ears. Too excise your dog ears, the incision will have to be carried out over the hips and around towards the buttock. If your buttock bothers you, now is the time to do a buttock lift. In my opinion, you initially needed an extended tummy tuck or 360 circumferential lower body lift. Therefore, I would suggest surgical dog ear revision with excision. To accomplish this, the incision will need to be carried out over the hips and towards the back. Good luck. Please seek a specialist who concentrates their practice on 360 circumferential lower body lifts.

Answer: Liposuction If it has only been 2 months, you need to wait and heal since you still have swelling. If you look the same after 2-3 more months, then consider liposuction of your flanks and trim the excess skin if needed. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: Revision can be done followed by laser treatments Abdominoplasty scars can be quite complex, ranging from the simple hypertrophic scar to a multiplane inflamed keloid. Pigmentation, discoloration, chronic inflammation, scar visibility can all occur in the short term. We begin each treatment with combination therapy using Yellow broadband BBL, Vbeam, fractional erbium, intralesional IIT, and scar modulation. Start with a combination of Plato's Scar Serum massaged twice daily after one week of epithelialization followed by Luminase/Exfolase. Scar consultation and revision may be recommended. Answer: Dog ears Dear Carlych1, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Dog ears? It appears a small revision will improve your results. Typically a little more skin is excised and the fatty pocket is addressed. The full incision does not need to be reopened. At times this can be done in an office surgical suite under local anesthesia. Speak with your surgeon about your concerns.
