SEG revision - can tip derotation be performed for patients who has SEG? (Photo)

Hello, I had my rhinoplasty a few months ago and the tip has not dropped at all. I learned that i had SEG (Septal Extension Graft) placed which maked my nose point really high. Can I check if tip derotation can be performed for patients who had SEG placed to keep their tip high?

Yes, with a revision rhinoplasty the septal extension graft can be dissected free that the repositioned to extend the tip, although it is possible that other grafts will be needed. Unfortunately this is a potential problem with septal extension grafts which can be very useful but rigidly fix the amount of tip rotation and projection

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, your tip does appear overrotated and over-projected. This is not likely to drop if a septal extension graft was used during your surgery. If you want to undergo a Revision, you could have extended spreader grafts placed to derotate your tip and have a nasal tip deprojection performed at the same time.. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
