Revision to lengthen nose?

Question

I had primary rhinoplasty with a so-called top doctor. Shockingly he made numerous changes I had not asked for and I am left with an awful upturned fake looking Instagram nose that appears too short and does not suit my face at all. I hate it. So I’m looking for someone to lengthen it and possibly restore my former strong, stoic profile - add some character. I don’t know if this is possible, but I need to fix it as still feel estranged from how I look! I am willing to travel far and wide!

A short nose can be lengthened after primary rhinoplasty. It's done with cartilage grafts that force the tip back down. While it may not be possible to bring it all the way back to where is was, it's certainly possible to make a nice improvement. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

Yes it is possible to do so but you need to be prepared to go all in on what a revision rhino entails- the recovery both physically and mentally and making sure that you go to an expert in this. You most likely will need rib cartilage as well.

It seems like a revision rhinoplasty might be needed in your specific situation. This sometimes involves harvesting rib cartilage, especially if the cartilage from the nasal septum was utilized at the first surgery. I would find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I always tell prospective patients to look at the plastic surgeon's training (ideally a 6 year integrated plastic surgery residency and a 1 year aesthetic fellowship accredited by The Aesthetic Society). In addition, examine before/after photos on social media platforms. I would also look at Google or RealSelf reviews. This will help you get a comprehensive understanding of your provider.

Yes - this is possible.  The key is how long ago it was done as the longer the time since surgery the harder this will be as the skin can contract.  We would fix this likely by using cartilage to restructure the nose framework.
