In Aug 2022, I had septorhinoplasty for a deviated septum and dorsal hump, with some tip work to lift. Nov 23 revision with same surgeon to lift tip again and rasp lump on bridge. Surgeon said they "caught" lateral cartilage, causing a asymmetric hump on the bridge. I also think I have alar retraction, and my nasal breathing is reduced. Same surgeon proposes trimming protruding cartilage and lowering nostrils but didnt mention grafts or alar retraction. What are your thoughts/advice?

I would find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. You need an in-person evaluation and physical exam. I would recommend a revision rhinoplasty. You cannot simply remove the septal extension graft....there has to be some type of tip support. An option would be to...

I would recommend a revision rhinoplasty utilizing rib cartilage. I personally do not find ear cartilage to have adequate strength to withstand the deforming forces of scar contracture over time that occur in the nose. I would find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic...
