I have a dent on one side of my nose, looking at old photos I had it before I got my nose ring, but I think the ring makes it stand out more. It looks worse in some angles than other
Answer: Dent in the nose: Know your treatment options Hello, and thank you for providing images along with your question. You do appear to have a dent in your nose, and your nose ring seems to draw more attention to it. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Your surgeon must first do an in-depth evaluation of your nose to determine the cause of the dent, then recommend the best treatment plan. Depending on your case, your surgeon may recommend rhinoplasty or dermal fillers. But in the hands of a skilled and experienced surgeon, you can rest assured you will achieve the best possible outcome.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. The photographic information is very helpful. It might be possible to excise the hole but it would leave a scar. Because of your skin type, scarring is less predictable. I would suggest to confirm this with your surgeon.

Answer: Fixing a dent You might consider non-surgical fillers which might work pretty well. otherwise you need some cartilage grafting The dent is because of the shape of the cartilages Theoretically that would need surgery to fix so the fillers might be the easiest option. Good luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your questions and for sharing your photographs. Even though, the dent you are talking about is visible on your photograph, it is not possible to provide you with a simple answer. I agree with you that the ring draws attention towards this dent and is not helpful. You would require having a full assessment of your nose both internally and externally. You may also have an associated septal deviation (the thin wall between your nasal passages may be displaced to one side). Your surgeon will also evaluate your nasal appearance and its relation to your facial features. I would suggest that you consult with a nasal surgeon (Rhinologist) with expertise in performing complex rhinoplasty. The use of manipulated (morphed) digital clinical photography provides a platform for discussion as to your desires and expectations. Such images are not a guarantee of exact results, but a great tool to ensure that you and your surgeon are on the same wavelength. Only then, you would be able to have a full discussion about the benefits vs risks of your surgery and to make an informed decision. It is paramount that you have a realistic expectation before proceeding with this surgery. Best wishes,
