I agree with you that the ring draws attention towards this dent and is not helpful. You would require having a full assessment of your nose both internally and externally. You may also have an associated septal deviation (the thin wall between your nasal passages may be displaced to one side). Your surgeon will also evaluate your nasal appearance and its relation to your facial features. I would suggest that you consult with a nasal surgeon (Rhinologist) with expertise in performing complex rhinoplasty.
