Hello. I recently got a chin implant to help balance my profile but I’m still unsatisfied. I feel as though I have a long and skinny (thin skinned) nose that isn’t helping my profile and weak chin. Would a rhinoplasty help? I’m also considering a larger implant as well.
Answer: Rhinoplasty with chin implant: What you need to know Thank you for providing images along with your question. While your chin implant has given you very natural-looking results, it may not complement the rest of your features, such as your nose which has a noticeable dorsal hump. I highly recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Such providers will have an expertise on facial anatomy, as well as an aesthetic eye to produce facial harmony. Furthermore, a skilled surgeon will always treat an area of the face with the overall facial aesthetic in mind. Your surgeon will do a proper assessment of your facial profile, recommend procedures to complement or enhance your facial features, and ensure the best possible outcome.

Answer: Rhinoplasty after chin implant: Rhinoplasty after chin implant: it appears that you had a nice results from your chin implant. Based on current aesthetic standards, your nose is not bad, but has a small dorsal hump and is slightly over projecting. These are features that are typically reduced during a standard rhinoplasty. It is a matter of taste as to whether you would find a smaller nose pleasing, but if you found that you would prefer a slightly smaller nose, I think most plastic surgeons would find that compatible with aesthetic standards and agree.

Answer: Facial Harmony I would not replace your chin implant. It looks properly proportionate, and anything larger could make you look unfeminine. Facial harmony is complex. Addressing the dorsal hump with a rhinoplasty would help bring this harmony. The hump can be filed down into a nice straight line or very subtle slope, whatever you prefer. If I might make one suggestion that you did not ask about, but since we are speaking about facial harmony, I thought I would offer it: a conservative lip augmentation using a hyaluronic-acid filler to your upper lip will bring about further balance. Please keep in mind that these are just suggestions, and what you choose to do is truly up to you! I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon with decades of experience with rhinoplasty surgery.

Answer: Rhinoplasty after chin implant The side profile photographs demonstrate an overly projecting nose with a dorsal hump and hanging columella. A a closed rhinoplasty can accomplish improvement of your nose. Probably best to do the rhinoplasty first and not replace the chin implant at this point because so as not to make your chin too masculine.
