I’m nearly 40 and keen for slightly larger lips. I went to see someone about filler but they advised a lip lift instead as told me I’d likely get a duck pout with filler. Thoughts if I should go for a lip lift instead and then after could I add filler?
Answer: Advantages/Disadvantages Good morning, hope you are well! Based on the photos that you have provided, a well-designed and executed lip lift would give you a very nice result. It doesn't enlarge the lip itself, but it can increase the amount of vermilion 'pink' lip that shows and enhance the cupid's bow. It can also increase the amount of dental show which is a classically attractive appearance if not overdone. I disagree that lip filler with necessarily result in a 'duck pout'; but again, you should find a provider who is confident in their abilities. HA fillers are generally temporary which is good if you're seeking short term results, but you can also consider surgical lip augmentation which is a durable solution and provides very natural, symmetric, and smooth results. I often perform these procedures together (lip lift w/ augmentation), and I think that approach would suit you well. Best Regards,Jacob Tower, MD

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Lip lift A lip lift is a surgical procedure that shortens the distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose, resulting in a more defined upper lip and increased visibility of the vermilion (pink part) of the lips. A lip lift can also help address signs of aging, such as a thinning upper lip or the appearance of fine lines around the mouth. The 3D lip lift I invented achieve the longest-lasting results with the best scarring and the least amount of nasal pull-down. On the other hand, lip fillers involve injecting a hyaluronic acid-based gel into the lips to add volume. Fillers can help create a fuller, plumper appearance but most of the time, the shape changes required for patients’ lips cannot be provided by filler. If your primary concern is to achieve a more defined (and also natural looking) upper lip, then a lip lift may be a more appropriate choice. Lip lift and filler can be combined to achieve the desired results. However, it's important to wait until after the healing process of the lip lift is complete before considering adding filler. It is recommended to consult with an expert in lip reshaping surgery for the best outcome. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Would a lip lift help me achieve a slightly larger look? Hello Sbilson7! You are absolutely the right candidate for a lip lift. Your white lip is very long. The white lip is the area above your red lip. The distance between your nose and your lip is almost equal to the distance between your lower lip and your chin. You can permanently have natural, slightly larger, upturned and elegant lips with liplift. If you desire, you can also have filler to your lips after the liplift procedure. Regards.
