Who do I contact for implant rupture warranty info if my surgeon has retired?

I have Allerghan Natrelle Inspira implants that are less than 10 years old - and one has ruptured. Apparently there is a warranty, my original surgeon has retired - but does anyone know how and who I begin to contact with regards to removal and replacement funding?

Customer care and warrantee department could surely help you at Allergan, but this can be quite confusing.  It may be more direct for you to see a board certified plastic surgeon for and examination and history, and their office will almost certainly have someone on the staff who deals with this regularly, and can usually give you the answer within 10 or 15 minutes, and establish a case number at Allergan for you.  Although the warrantees are precisely written, in some cases the patient may be offered bilateral implants, implants that are larger or smaller, implants with a different profile, or more.  Sometimes there may be an up charge for a specific type of implant.  This is in addition to  money, if any, the company may offer you according to your specific warrantee.

Thanks for your inquiry and sorry for your struggles.  Any experienced board certified plastic surgeon will be able to pursue your warranty claim.  FYI, these claims can begin before revision surgery but will continue after surgery through the warranty division to decide the benefits you are entitled to--good luck.

The warranty is with the manufacturer, not the surgeon, so any plastic surgeon can take care of it. It is good that you have the original implant information, that will be very helpful.

You have all the info you need. Go to another surgeon and that surgeon will do what is required for the warranted to work out.

Your new surgeon can contact Allergan on your behalf for the replacement and to set up your refund. The money is usually sent after the surgery is completed and the ruptured implant is returned to Allergan or photos of if gel.
