Had a revision surgery to change implant and to fix double bubble on one breast. The revision did not help, even though surgeon put Galaflex mesh and cleaned out old scar tissue. Any thoughts? Any hope it will ever improve without thinning further tissue or removing skin? Can improvement be done without general anesthesia? Thank you

Answer: Double bubble Dear Lisa Wu, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Double bubble still there after revision It can be frustrating when revision surgery does not achieve the desired results. In cases where a double bubble deformity persists despite revision surgery and the use of Galaflex mesh, it's essential to consult with your surgeon to discuss the factors contributing to the issue and explore potential solutions. It's difficult to determine the specific reasons for the continued double bubble without a comprehensive evaluation of your situation. Possible factors could include anatomical considerations, underlying tissue characteristics, or the surgical technique used. Your surgeon is in the best position to evaluate your case and provide insights into why the issue persists and what options are available. Regarding the potential for improvement without further thinning of tissue or skin removal, it depends on the specific circumstances and the recommendations of your surgeon. They will assess the quality and elasticity of your breast tissue, as well as the severity of the double bubble, to determine the best course of action. It's possible that additional revision surgery, including a mastopexy (breast lift) or other techniques, may be necessary to improve the appearance and address the double bubble. The use of general anesthesia or alternative anesthesia methods will depend on the complexity of the procedure and the preferences of your surgeon. They will discuss the appropriate anesthesia options with you to ensure your comfort and safety during the surgery. I hope this helps, best of luck !
