How soon after dissolving lip filler can you refill?

Is it safe to refill lip filler after 1 week of having dissolved them? I know most places say to wait 2 weeks but if the half life of hyaluronidase is 2 days then surely it would all be out of your body by 1 week?

Hello, and thank you for your question. We would recommend waiting the full 2 weeks. That is because when you do any type of injection there is always a chance of swelling or bruising. Even if you don't see these on the surface, this swelling could inhibit where you place the filler and how it integrates with the tissue moving forward. Two weeks is a great mark when swelling is gone and the hylenex has fully dissolved the filler. Good luck in your filler journey!

It's best to wait two weeks after dissolving your filler before having further treatment of the area.  This will give enough time for the enzyme to work as well as allow your lips to heal and swelling to completely resolve.
