4 years after Restylane Defyne, inflammation is still present. What can I do to correct this? (photos)

Question

I had a lip filler injection with Restalyne define in August 2019. A lump formed where the filler was injected and was causing a symmetry. I received two separate doses of Hylenex and the bump went away but the area is still noticeably inflamed. It doesn’t feel like there’s any filler left in it but is there any options to get rid of this? Thanks.

Based on what you circled in the photo of your lips, you appear to be concerned about a raised area on your left upper lip. Depending on your examination, excision of a raised area may be considered, and lip excisions with primary repair tend to result in a favorable scar and minimal inconvenience or downtime. There is evidence of some permanence after HA fillers. We don’t know the exact mechanism, but it does not appear to be residual product.
There’s not much that can be done. Evaluation and management is on an individual basis.
