Would you call this a botched lip job? (Photo)

Question

I received lip filler in January, 2023. The clinic injected 2ml into my lips. They were incredibly painful and swollen. Even after the swelling decreased, I had huge 'shelves' on both sides of my top lip, and the outer edges of my upper lip literally curled 'down'. The clinic claims they did nothing wrong, despite looking at my lips. I'm still reducing my lips. Do they look botched to you, or am I overracting?

Your lips were overfilled and poorly shaped, especially the top. Your lips should be smooth but I can see little lumps of filler clumped together. 2mL is a lot, especially if it was your first time. They should have started with one to see how it settled first. Regardless, they did a poor job and could have cause damage. I would not recommend going back there. It is super important to do research and find qualified injectors with lots of good pictures and reviews!

2 cc's of an HA filler seems a bit excessive. If this is what you received, you could certainly request a dissolving enzyme to see if that may help reduce their size. I hope this is helpful! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Based on your photos it appears there is room for improvement in your lip filler treatment.  The result is uneven and does not enhance your lip shape.  You may wish to have the product dissolved with hyaluronidase.  Always select an expert injector for treatment.
