Hi - Good day. I am so worried and embarrassed of my lower eyelids after having surgery, hoping will build my confidence. My scars are visible and seem the tissue under has rise. What can I do to resolve??

Once reason I perform lower blepharoplasty through the transconjunctival (inside of the eyelid) approach is to avoid these scars. However it’s a more sophisticated technique that many don’t know how to do well.

I typically like to start scar injections early on at 3 weeks after surgeon when needed, although they have their own risks and they are off-label injections in the US.

You also shouldn’t have bruising and swelling 3 months after surgery.

You need a proper in-person evaluation and should see a Board-Certified Oculoplastic surgeon. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Thank you for your question. Swelling under the eyes can last a long time, but without knowing exactly what was performed it is difficult to discern the cause. I recommend consultation with your surgeon or a board-certified facial plastic surgeon for an in-person examination. Best of luck!
