Breast lift & implant together or not? (Photo)

Thank you for your question. I don't ever stage lifts and augmentations separate from one another, except in the most rare of cases where the nipple position is crazy low. Combining the lift and implant together brings a lot of factors into play. Using the mesh can definitely help stablize the breast mound. Best of Luck!

It really depends on the opinion of the surgeon and what is deemed safe for you. Some surgeons prefer to do these separately while other may be comfortable doing them together. Please choose the surgeon you feel most comfortable with.

Hi from Istanbul! In my practice, I mostly perform both surgeries at once but in specific circumstances, like if there is too much sagging, doing them separately is a good option. Unless there is an indication for GalaFLEX, I do not routinely use it. Hope this helps, best of luck!

Hello and thank you for your question. These two surgeries are commonly performed together in the US and are considered safe when performed by an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. As long as there is not a particular contraindication against performing the two surgeries together, you should be able to undergo them both at the same time. I perform a majority of my breast lift cases with an implant, even if just to give shape and projection to the breast with a smaller implant.

Hello, thank you for your question. It really depends if you are remove breast tissue and unsure how much to remove based on the implant size and your natural breast tissue. We usually do two steps in one unless we unsure if the patient truly needs a lift and they are borderline. I would speak to your plastic surgeon again and see what you are more comfortable with doing.

It’s a great question whether to do it as one stage or two. The dividing line for many surgeons depends on how far the nipples need to be moved. If your nipples need to be moved up 3 or more inches you are best off doing it in two stages. Otherwise it’s hard to get a good result and some surgeons won’t lift you as far as you need to be.

Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. However, if you are a 32 DD then I do not understand the need for implants but I do understand the need for a breast lift. The breast lift technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

There are more risks with doing both together, especially if the circulation to your areolae is mainly from skin and not breast tissue. If you are a true DD, you might consider just doing the lift. Very saggy skin will not support the weight of implants well. Do have the implants placed behind the muscle for better support and better upper breast fullness.
