Answer: Revision surgery Dear LMC2000, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Breast scars after lift/reduction It is unknown how long ago was your breast surgery revision? Scars generally need 1-1.5 years in your age to mature; they may still improve. Did you use any scar tapes or gels (5-6 months, daily)? That all can improve scars, as well as laser treatment. If you want more projection and perkier looking breast, you may consider a high profile implants. Without having your pre op photos to compare, I would say that your result is within average. Hope this helps.

Answer: Breast scars and shape Your breast scars are not too bad (trust me, they can be horrible). The raised portions may be injected with a steroid (Kenalog) to help flatten them. You may try laser treatments (usually around 5-7) to get rid of the redness which aids tremendously with the camouflage. The lack of roundness would require a revision mastopexy (breast lift) with removal of portions of each breast scar. Dr. Taranow

Answer: Dissatisfaction with result of breast augmentation and full pattern lift Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note that the scars still appear reddened and elevated, suggesting that they are not yet mature. The scar interface itself appears quite thin. The breasts are relatively symmetric and full, without any evidence of sag. The nipple areolar complexes are at the same "altitude" on the chest wall. There is a degree of tightness of the inframammary segment of the patterns, resulting in some flattening of the inferior aspect of the breasts. The lateral limb of the pattern resides slightly low on the chest wall. As the scars are still red, it appears that the revisional surgery was probably performed within the last 18 months or so. As such, healing is not yet complete and skin and scar remodeling will continue for that period of time. Allow the redness to fade. Allow the scars to mature and the skin to stretch and soften. At that time, you can judge if lateral limb scar revision is still necessary. The boxiness of the inferior breast poles will likely lessen with time. If persistent, fat injections into the area may be beneficial. Continue follow up with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes...
