Hi, i had a Mastopexy Augmentation 7months ago with anchor scars. I've noticed for a couple of months now I've had mild shooting pains round the outside area of my right breast. The last few weeks these shooting pains are becoming more frequent/daily and more intense. Visually everything looks fine and fine to touch. Should i be worried?
Answer: Breast Pain After a Mastopexy Augmentation Thank you for your question if you should be worried seven months post mastopexy augmentation. It sounds like what you are experiencing is capsular contracture. This is scar tissue that is forming around the implant. This is not an uncommon complication. Even though it is not tender to touch as the scar tissue progresses, it may become more painful to touch. Initial treatment should include taking a medication called Singular daily. Work-up would consist of an MRI or a mammogram. If the scar tissue is bothering you, you may require revision surgery. The revision surgery may be capsulotomy (cutting of the capsule), capsulectomy (removal of the capsule), or complete removal of the capsule in exchange for the implant. I hope this helps answer your questions regarding right breast post-op mastopexy. If you have any more questions regarding the breast lift or mastopexy, capsular contracture, or breast implants in general, please contact my office. Since your breast surgery requires a revision, which is more difficult than an initial breast lift, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing these types of breast lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 breast lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Good luck! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Breast Lift with Implants and Pain Hello! In your case, the ideal is to go personally and have an evaluation with a plastic surgeon, with hormonal changes, the menstrual period, etc., you may feel slight discomfort and some turgidity, however, persistent pain on one side should be investigated, to rule out other anomalies or capsulate contractures. Thank you for contacting us!

Answer: Pain You may be developing a capsule on that breast, or scar tissue around a sensory nerve to the breast. I would suggest going back to your surgeon and being checked.

Answer: Breast pain Dear jayde1991, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Episodic breast pain occurring 7 months after breast augmentation / lift? Hi and welcome to our forum! Episodic breast discomfort, if minimal, is not uncommon after breast augmentation and lift. Nerve regrowth after surgery may be responsible for transient areas of numbness or hypersensitivity. This abates over time. But, as the frequency and intensity of your pain is increasing, I would recommend a thorough history and physical examination by your plastic surgeon to determine the source of your pain. Best wishes....
