Sudden change in feeling at 4 years post op - should I be concerned?

Question

I am 4 years post op, with Polytech Round 545CC implants, over the muscle. I have recently been trying to lose weight and lost around 5Kg, not enough to cause a major change in my implants I would think. Over the last 5 days, I have noticed a funny feeling in my left breast. It is not painful or hard (when resting or doing exercises) but I feel like the skin by the left side of my nipple is pulling. 5 It is closer to a numbing feeling that is just always present. No change to shape either.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Hi.  Any change in your breasts should be evaluated by your surgeon.  If necessary, then he/she can send you to get a mammogram or other imaging studies to help make a diagnosis.  It's best not to ignore this.  Best of luck!

It's not typical to experience change in sensation four years post op, even with weight loss.  I encourage you to visit with your surgeon for an evaluation.  Further testing such as a mammogram may be advised in order to rule out any issues.

I would suggest going to your medical doctor and ask to get an ultrasound, and if needed, a mammogram, of your breasts to check the implants.

First of all, we do not necessarily confirm your complaints by going to a hospital and doing some tests. I understand your concerns, but before breast aesthetics, a decision is made according to the person's current weight and body characteristics. Gaining or losing a few kilos after the procedure usually does not change the result. However, if a lot of weight is gained, breast enlargement due to fat may occur, even if the size of the silicone does not change. When you lose weight, the same problem causes contour differences. If the weight gain or loss is too large, it may cause sagging.

Changes in breast sensation is not uncommon. 
Consider following up with your plastic surgeon if you have concerns regarding the outcome or implants. You can also follow up with your primary care physician as well. If you are within screening age then consider getting your mammogram. 
I don’t think there is anything a plastic surgeon can really do for your change in sensation.
