I had chin liposculpture 8 days ago and my neck is a complete mess. I had the bandages removed two days ago and have a one inch, deep crease along my throat that is not disappearing. I have a ring of fat round the bottom of my neck with an inch groove above that which is very thin and crepey looking. I think the rubber type bandage has caused the crease & pushed the fat down to cause the ring and the groove. I appreciate it takes months for the bruising and swelling to go down.

Answer: 1 week after surgery it's ok if things look somewhat weird 1 week after surgery it's ok if things look somewhat weird. Bandages and dressings can cause strange looking wrinkling and skin folds but these should be soft and smooth out once you have take off those bandages. If your deep ridge hasn't disappeared, let your surgeon know. Massage may help to correct this.

Answer: Healing one week after chin liposuction. I'm sorry you are experiencing this difficulty, though it is a bit early to become despondent about how things look right now.If your surgeon was an ABPS-certified plastic surgeon, I would be less concerned, and would recommend that you return to your surgeon and ask about your compression chin elastic. I agree that it may have cause the creasing, but it did not push fat down into the ring and cause a groove. Fat that remains cannot be "pushed," and the groove can be no less than what was removed at the time of surgery. What is being pushed into the "ring" is swelling, and this can be relied upon to gradually resolve. Any fat removed, whether "too much" in one area or "too little" in another will neither go away nor get better, just become more visible as expected swelling reabsorbs. This is an area that requires much finesse, and SmartLipo or other techniques that are designed to make this "easy" don't necessarily replace surgeon skill and expertise (or excision under direct vision via a slightly larger incision that heals just as well as the "tiny" lipo one).If you went to a "cosmetic surgeon" then it may be wise to ask the opinion of an ABPS-certified plastic surgeon who can help you with your concerns (at additional cost, since you paid someone else for this operation). Don't wait; ask questions now and see your surgeon ASAP. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
