Answer: Nutrition after Tummy Tuck While your are asking "Plastic Surgeons" a "Nutritionist" question we can make recommendations that we have seen work with our patients. I have seen nice results in my patients on High Protein -Low Carb diets with the elimination or very low consumption of alcohol. 1900 cal diet with 3 miles of walking daily should really help you continue lose weight if you are 5'10". Keep up the great work!

Answer: Right on calories I think that the amount of calories you consume is probably right on based on your height and activity level, assuming you are at the weight you want to be at. For example, suppose you now weigh 130 pounds, and you want to maintain that weight. If you consume 1900 calories a day and your weight remains constant from week to week than you are consuming the correct amount of calories. On the other hand, suppose you now weigh 150 pounds, but you want to only weigh 130 pounds. If you consume 1900 calories a day and week after week, your weight remains constant at 150 pounds, then 1900 calories is too much for you.

Answer: Diet after a "large" tummy tuck There is no specific diet or number of calories that are recommended after a tummy tuck. This depends on the individual's size and activity level. In general, you should try to stay away from high salt intact, heavy alcohol consumption, lots of carbohydrates and diet sodas. It's probably best to stick with high protein, low fat foods and lots of fruits and veggies and exercise regularly.

Answer: Your calorie requirement is based on your age, height, weight and activity level... Your calorie requirement is based on your age, height, weight and activity level. You should be fine with around 1800-2000 calories per day. You do not go on a weight loss diet immediately after surgery, since your body will have a high metabolic demand due to the healing required post surgery. Eat a lot of protein and make sure you get your vitamins and minerals from vegetables and fruits.
