What do I do about this incision? I am 4 weka post PPP. No idea how it happened. Will it keep spreading? Do I put steri strips on ot? My dr is out of town until wed.
Answer: Small wound opening after TT Thanks for your question and photo. Sorry to hear you are having a complication. These small areas of slow healing after a tummy tuck are not uncommon. From what I can see in the photo it looks small and clean. Best to call your Dr.'s office and talk to whomever is covering for them. In the meantime, it is reasonable to put steri-strips over it or cover with a bandaid and some bacitracin antibiotic ointment (assuming you are not allergic to it). Good luck.

Answer: Incision open 4 weeks post tummy tuck. What do I do about it? Will it keep spreading? Sorry to hear about the complication you have experienced. These types of superficial separations or wounds can occur, and sometimes may “look worse, before it looks better”. In my opinion, the most important “factor” involved with successful treatment of the complication will be close follow-up with your plastic surgeon. He/she will be in the best position to monitor situation carefully. Infections should be ruled out and “foreign bodies” such as sutures that may prevent quick healing may be removed. The open wound should go on to heal over the course of the next several weeks, hopefully without long-term sequelae. Concentrate on a well-balanced ( good protein source) diet. Best wishes.

Answer: Wound healing problem with tummy tuck Looks like a small area of marginal skin necrosis. This will heal if you keep ointment on it and protect with a bandage. As long as it is not infected (fever, redness, tender), then it can wait until your plastic surgeon is back, if infected you need to see a doctor ASAP.

Answer: Open incision That appears to be very small and may heal by secondary intention by simply keeping the wound clean. Later on a small office revision that takes a few minutes might be necessary, but overall this should still yield a good result. Even if a surgeon is out of town, they will have someone on call that can help you...good luck and take care.

Answer: Wound Healing The incisions can spread like this in places, and have no significance. It is probably best not to put steer strips on the area. Make sure you limit your physical activity and make an appointment to see your surgeon.
