The nose is wide in the tip (bulbous) and also in upper half where the nasal bones are. Tip plasty to narrow the tip and osteotomies to narrow the upper half will give you the balance that you are looking for. RegardsDr. J

Hello and thank you for your question.  You are a great candidate for a natural appearing rhinoplasty.  Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty which can be performed by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.  If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Hi, your question is a good one. Your question is straightforward but the answer is not that easy.  The main thing is that with rhinoplasty we cannot custom order or custom design a nose.....like what we can do with creating a new kitchen or bath....The goal is to optimize the nose as best we can.  That being said, skin thickness is very very very important.  I have a very large patient population with similar type of nasal structure. I always treat the skin before any operation even if it takes a year! One the skin is optimized THEN I perform the operation.  There are maneuvers that can be performed in order to help with the contour of the nose.
