Would a rhinoplasty and sliding genioplasty improve my profile? (Photos)

I'm looking improve my profile, and I know my chin is weak, and I'm wondering if a rhinoplasty and sliding genioplasty would work, or if I should start with the genioplasty, and ballpark what the cost might be?

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty, a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly, and a conservative dorsal hump reduction. A chin implant can be performed at the same time for improved jaw line contour. I always use a medpor implant with screw fixation, which stays in place over time. A silicone chin implant has a high rate of malrotation over time. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Best wishes and good luck.

Hello and thank you for your question. I believe you are a good candidate for both rhinoplasty and a chin implant. In terms of your nose, you benefit from dorsal hump reduction. Adding a chin implant will bring more harmony to your face, makes your nose looking less projecting, and improves the jawline contour and the fullness under the chin. My best advice is that you discuss your concerns and aesthetic goals with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in performing rhinoplasty. I would ask to see before and after pictures of their real patients. Thank you for your question. Based on your limited view you may benefit from the dorsal hump removal and probably augmentation of the radix for a nice forehead nose pass. Since a nose is a 3 dimensional structure the nose should be harmonised from all sides. For your chin you may benefit either from the chin implant which is hard when you touch, or fat injection which is softer for touch. Both surgeries and possible breathing issues can be addressed in one surgery.

You appear to be a good candidate fir rhinoplasty. Options fir the chin include either a chin implant or sliding genioplasty.  the chin implant is far simpler and more surgeons are comfortable with chin implants compared to the sliding genioplasty.

Kevin- great questions. To balance your profile the greatest impact would be from both a rhinoplasty to improve your nasal profile along with augmentation of your chin to bring balance to the lower third of your face. Both a sliding genioplasty and a chin implant are both independent options. In addition, if you have an overbite of the upper dentition, orthognathic (oral jaw surgery) surgery might be an option to correct your bite and your chin projection simultaneously. These are all best determined in an in-person consultation.Regarding cost, the most straightforward combination of procedures would be a rhinoplasty with chin implant. A sliding genioplasty is performed by an oral surgeon under general anesthesia in a hospital setting with an overnight stay. This procedure is usually performed when the teeth are significantly out of alignment. A rhinoplasty is not performed in conjunction with the sliding genioplasty. For a pure  cosmetic chin augmentation, consider a chin implant.  The photographs demonstrate an overly projecting nose and an under projecting chin. The combination of a rhinoplasty with a chin implant could significantly help with your side profile. It's important to understand that the chin can be augmented forward more than the nose can be de-projected.
